Sassy Spring 2012 Hosiery Trends

Well ladies, spring has sprung and the fashions for spring are pure fun! No more baggy diaper pants (what on earth were they thinking???) and unwearable trends. This season, we have the movies to thank for bringing us flirty feminine looks. “The Help” brought us 50s inspired ladylike dresses in florals and pastels. Chanel is showing them with uncuffed ankle socks in bold solids and lace. We like Oroblu’s Doris patterned pantyhose in nude with a fishnet and dot pattern that keeps these dresses from looking a little too sweet. “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”  continues the trend in black leather and sheer black dresses for  overtly sexy tough girl chic. Black bandage tights are straight off the runway, and black fishnets and seamed hosiery complete these looks with maximum impact. “The Artist” gives us 20s inspired flapper shift dresses in sheer and floaty fabrics. (Although for fall Marc Jacobs has gone for early 1900s with dramatic hats and ankle length dresses and cut-away coats.) These fun swingy dresses cry out for ladylike sheer thigh high stockings with a stay up lace band. Some runways also showed these dresses with knee high fishnet socks and open toed sandals.

Hot Holiday Hosiery!

Ho, ho, ho, its time for holiday hosiery. Ok, ladies, do we want to be naughty or nice? We all know the answer to that, so…for a romantic evening out, we LOVE the Zaferrano patterned pantyhose from SiSi. They are sheer black with grey dots and a stunning thigh high pattern with gold metallic thread running through it. You can casually cross your legs so that your skirt rises up just enough to give him a flash of that sexy thigh high pattern. Wow! Very sheer smoky black pantyhose will look perfect with your black dress and gives you that mysterious stranger look. Gold dresses rock when paired with camel colored fishnet tights. For a saucy, flirty look try sheer hosiery with dots or square patterns or seamed pantyhose with a trail of hearts up the back. If you want to make a lasting impression (and Santa WILL remember!) some seductive lace top thigh high stay up stockings  or red fishnet tights work every time. If glitter and glam are more your speed, try black tights with a silver glitter sheen. To jazz up a plain black skirt and get you noticed (let’s face it, after a few drinks people notice cleavage and shiny things) we like metallic tights in fun patterns and colors. Hot Halloween Hosiery

Looking for some inspiration for a fun, flirty Halloween costume? Look no further than your lingerie drawer for some ways to step up your game. Of course you always have the standard naughty nurse with thigh high sheer white stockings, and an assortment of witches and pirate wenches in black, red or cobalt blue fishnet tights. Pair a short black dress with a white apron and thigh high seamed stockings for a french maid outfit, or try a slip dress or vintage full length slip with some nude thigh high stockings with lace top for a 20s flapper look. Cobalt Blue–Who Knew?

Bandage Tights–ooh, thats nice!

No, I did not say “bondage” (although they do have a certain suggestion of S&M), bandage tights and leggings are a popular look for fall. I admit when I first saw this bandage look on the runway at Prabal-Gurung, I was not impressed.

Then when I saw bandage tights reinvented by Trasparenze with a sheer black background and the bandages only as a front pattern, I knew we had to have them. Oh my, these pantyhose are smokin’ hot with a little black dress and the lace-up panty pattern adds a sexy little surprise for later.
